The Book Bank Membership Program is our circular economy donation program. You can donate books to us and earn credits to redeem for other books within the bank.
-
Bring in new or gently used books from your home library.
Our team will review and decide which ones will be accepted into the bank
For every 4 used books we accept into the bank, you earn a credit that can be redeemed for 1 free used paperback from H&H’s collection
H&H will discount donated books based on the wear-and-tear ranking system below.
-
Once accepted into the Book Bank, books will be categorized and discounted for resale as follows:
LIKE NEW: Looks like it came straight from the publisher’s warehouse. No way someone’s read this (resold with no discount).
PRISTINE: We can tell you’ve read this, but it’s in excellent condition (resold with 10% discount).
GENTLY USED: Cover/interior wear and tear is minimal (resold with 25% discount).
LAST RODEO: Cover/interior wear and tear is extensive and readily apparent (resold with 50% discount).
-
4 accepted donations of Like New, Pristine, and/or Gently Used books will earn participants 1 free used paperback from H&H’s collection.
Once you have earned a reward, an H&H staffer will email you. Bring this email with you to H&H when you are ready to select your free used book, and show it to the person at the register.
Last Rodeo books do not count towards a book credit.
-
We will evaluate your donations and send you an email once 4 books have been accepted into the Bank.
Show that email to a staffer when you come into the shop and choose a book(s) from our book bank as your reward. At checkout, the staffer will create an account for you on our register, apply your discount, and you can receive an emailed receipt of the transaction for your records.
We will also email you with you credit standing periodically, especially if you have many credits and want to know your status.
We will evaluate on a book-by-book basis, and reserve the right to refuse any donation. Our goal is to steer away from mass market fiction and mass market nonfiction titles. We do not accept textbooks, advanced readers copies, or Book of the Month titles. Anything we do not accept into the Book Bank, we donate to Circle Thrift.
You are welcome to make a donation any time during our open hours. We are a small nonprofit and it takes us time to evaluate donations and reach out to donors. Please be patient.
