Dr. Angela Colistra and photographer Jeffrey Stockbridge will discuss the ways in which visual and verbal languages surrounding addiction affect our perception of it and present barriers towards recovery. This discussion and presentation will explore how our collective perception of addiction is revealed by the language we use, why language matters and what we can do to fight the stigma, end overdose deaths and help more people find their way back to health, wellness, and purpose.
